Hi Moms and Dads,

For the 2 weeks prior and the week following spring break we will be celebrating the Easter season.  We will discuss the meaning of Easter including the triumphant entry, the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus.  

On Friday, March 16th, Eric Litwin, author of Pete the Cat books, will be spending the day at Trinity.  He will be with grades k4 - 2nd grade from 8:15 -9:00 AM.  We are so excited about his visit.

*High Frequency Words: focus on are, he, is, see, she, a, and

*Informational text writing
*Phonics Focus: Jj, Zz, Xx, Yy, short u, short e
*Story structure - beginning, middle, end

*Time: focus on parts of a clock,  order of events, time to hour and half hour
*Money: counting groups of coins (add-on counting) - dimes & pennies, nickels &     
      pennies, quarter & pennies
*Addition practice
*Mental math: adding 1, 2, or 3 to a number
*Focus on subtraction
