Hi Moms and Dads,

Tis the season....
The next two weeks will be full of Christmas fun as we focus on the birth of our Savior!  What a joy it is every day to watch as your children prepare to present their "heart gift" for Jesus.  The excitement is in the air and they are truly a precious example of how "Christmas isn't Christmas until it happens in your heart".
JESUS IS THE STAR!!!!
We will be centering our reading and math activities around "things that remind us of Christmas" and the incredible Christmas literature that we all love.

Christmas Calendar!!

Important Dates

• Wednesday, December 7th, 9 a.m. -- K5 Christmas Play for LS
• Thursday, December 8th, 9 a.m. -- K5 Christmas Play for MS/US
• Friday, December 9th, 9 a.m. -- K5 Christmas Play for Parents (Costumes will be turned in following the play.  There will be a ziplock bag at each child's place.  Please fold your child's costume including head coverings if appropriate and put it in the ziplock bag.  Thank you in advance as this will be a tremendous help to us.)
• Monday, December 12th, noon -- Field Trip to Wadsworth Christmas Tree Farm  We will leave school at 8:45 AM.
• Tuesday, December 13th,  -- Polar Express Day (Wear your jammies)
• Thursday, December 15th, 10:45. -- Class Christmas Party
• Friday, December 16th -- Lower School assembly in Willet Hall to sing Christmas Carols.  Lower School Dismissal is 11:30 a.m.

  Christmas Holidays

• Wednesday, January 4th -- Students return from the holidays
• Thursday, January 5th -- Progress Reports go home
• Monday, January 16th -- Holiday

Nov. 28 - Dec.3

Hi Moms and Dads,

I hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving week.  Know how thankful I am for you and your child. I am blessed each day.  Your children are little rays of sunshine and love from God. Thank you for sharing them.

The week before Thanksgiving we started practicing for our upcoming Christmas Play, spent time with senior “giants,” met our new 5th grade buddies, attended chapel, and used the school’s new iTouch devices to practice skills.  Finally, on the Friday before the holiday week the K4 students prepared our hearts for Thanksgiving by singing some great songs for us in the commons area. On top of all of that excitement, we were able to praise God for keeping us all safe from the tornadoes on Wednesday.  This time of year is busy schedule-wise, but for our students it is also busy academically! The students have learned so much over the last few months and I am thrilled to see the progress they have made. Christmas/Christmas Play Practice (Please help your child practice.) They are doing an amazing job!  One of the best first weeks of practice that i can remember.

Bible - We will be focusing on Jesus, The Reason For The Season during the next three weeks.  What a privilege it is to learn about and spend time reflecting on our Lord and Savior with each child! DATES TO REMEMBER!

Costumes will come home this week.  They should be cleaned, ironed and brought back to school by Monday, December 5th. Hi Moms and Dads,

For those of you who are participating we will be packing our Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes on Wednesday.  They will be picked up on Thursday.  The children are very excited about participating in this project.   Thank you for all of your support.  

We will begin practice for our Christmas Play on Monday.  if your child has a speaking part please practice with your child each night.  Every child has a CD with all of the Christmas Play music.  Please encourage your child to listen to the CD so they will really know the music well.  We will be sending costumes and complete instructions home soon.  Because we have to share the stage with others our practice times will vary each day.  Our practice schedule is as follows:

                        BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING
We are very excited to tell you about our class service project.  We will be participating in the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Ministry.  Since many of you already participate in this ministry through your church, our goal is to put together two boxes (one boy and one girl) as a class.  Please send an appropriate item for the boxes by Wednesday, November 16th. The packed boxes will be sent out Thursday, November 17th.  If you do not participate through your church and would like to put a box together as a family, please let me know and I will send you the box.  Thank you so much for your help with this very special project.  What a blessing to be Gods hands and feet!

We will continue with academic centers.  This gives the children options on academic activities when they finish their assigned work.  We continue to work on listening and following directions and listening while other are talking.  Thank you for all you do at home to reinforce what we are doing at school.

Hi Moms and Dads, Your child is very special to me.  During our conference it was a blessing to be able to talk with each of you about your child's progress.   Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have a concern at any time. Hi Moms and Dads,

Our field trip to the Dream Field Farm's Pumpkin Patch was absolutely wonderful.  The weather was perfect as were the children.  Each child picked a pumpkin that was special to them.  Our parents enjoyed getting to know each other.  At the end of the morning we were all tired but had made many great memories.
